Liturgy of the Word with Children
Welcome the Little Children!
On most Sundays during the school year, we offer Liturgy of the Word with Children. Children arrive at Mass with their parents and join the assembly for the introductory rites. After the opening prayer Father invites the children to attend their own special Liturgy of the Word by calling them forward. They receive a blessing and then are led from the church to the Jane de Chantal Room by the adult leader. Children listen to God’s Word and ponder its meaning in a way suited to their abilities and their interests. At the conclusion of the Liturgy of the Word the children rejoin their parents for the entire assembly’s celebration of the Liturgy of the Eucharist.Children’s Liturgy of the Word is geared toward 3-6 year-olds. Parents are welcome, especially the first time, so you become familiar with what your children are experiencing. This is a great way to make the Mass even more meaningful for our children. All are welcome and invited to join us!
