Surviving the holidays after losing a loved one

Wondering how you will survive the weeks surrounding Thanksgiving and Christmas? There is help and hope to get you through the holiday season.

Your sorrow will be turned into joy. John 16:20

Whether you are grieving a recent death or one long ago, you are invited to attend "Surviving the Holidays" on Saturday, November 17 from 9:00-11: 30 AM at St. Thomas More Catholic Church, 940 Carmichael Street, Chapel Hill. The program will be facilitated by Deacon Bob Troy and Pat Grebe in the St. Teresa and St. Martin Rooms in the Parish Center. The program addresses holiday emotions, handling traditions and coming changes, surviving social events and discovering hope. We will watch a video of tips and real-life stories and share how to deal with the holidays while managing grief. You will receive a GriefShare Holiday Survival Guide. The cost is $10. Please RSVP to Dcn. Bob Troy at or 919-942-6235.

Holy Infant STEPHEN MINISTERS  are also available to help people "survive the holidays". Contact Lynn Sale for more information or to request a Stephen Minister.
