The Power of Parents Praying Together

PARENTS PRAYING TOGETHER - ST. MONICA PRAYER MINISTRY is a new ministry here at Holy Infant. Parents/Grandparents of children of all ages & stages of life are invited to come together for this hour of prayer once a month on a Sunday evening.

In his address during the World Meeting of Families, Pope Francis quoted Irish-American priest, Fr. Patrick Peyton, by saying, “the family that prays together stays together.”  Children first learn to pray from their parents.  Parents are called to continue to be witnesses to the Faith no matter what age or stage of life their children are in.  Parents Praying Together- St. Monica Prayer Ministry is designed for parents to come together once a month to pray for their children.  Not only does this strengthen your own faith journey as a parent, but also allows an atmosphere to bring your intentions for your children before the Lord.  In the Gospels, we read of the power of prayer as a community: "for where two or three are gathered in my name, I am there among them" (Matthew 18:20).  Prayer unites us together with the greater Christian community.  Join other parents within our parish community Sunday, November 18th from 6:45 PM - 7:45 PM in the church for an hour of prayer.  Refreshments will be served afterwards, providing an opportunity to socialize with each other.
