Referred to as the "worst disaster in Texas history" by FEMA director, Brock Long, Hurricane Harvey left a path of destruction that will take years to rebuild. Approximately 13,000 people were rescued across the state while an estimated 30,000 were displaced; many precious lives were lost.

In response to this tragedy, Holy Infant will hold a special second collection during weekend Masses on September 16 and 17, which will go directly to vetted services dedicated to Hurricane Harvey disaster relief.

Edited to Add: The funds from this special collection will be directed to the Unites States Conference of Catholic Bishops, which is working with Catholic Charities USA to get assistance to those impacted by Harvey.

If you feel called to give before the collection, please carefully research and vet the charities to which you donate. Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of Galveston-Houston is on the ground helping disaster victims right now and will continue providing support through the years of recovery.
