The shelter reports that most of the volunteer teams that prepare dinner have either continued doing so – onsite or offsite – or they have chosen to pay for catered meals for our clients.
Holy Infant's Urban Ministries Shelter Dinner ministry kept its once-monthly dinner coming with meals delivered by local restaurants. None of this would be have been possible without generous donations from parishioners and other Holy Infant ministries.
“This has been indispensable and is one of the reasons our Community Café has not missed a beat,” said Viki Baker, director of community engagement.
In a letter to supporters, Baker wrote that volunteers and donors have also ensured that shelter families and single adults will have a special holiday.
“Supporters have purchased items from our Amazon Holiday Cheer shopping list, and volunteers are ready to box and deliver those presents, along with a delicious meal. In fact, thanks to all of YOU, we have everything we need to make it a joyful season for clients!”
