Rainbows for All Children information meetings set for September

Learn more about this grief support ministry for children.

Grandparents, parents and guardians of children who are experiencing grief are invited to attend meetings on September 5 and 17 at 7 pm in the Parish Center to learn more about this grief support ministry.

Rainbows for All Children is an international grief support program for children that meets in a weekly peer support small group.

Any child who has experienced a loss or change in his or her life can participate. This loss or change could be due to a death, separation of family, loss of a pet, deployment/relocation, and many other reasons.

After experiencing a loss, children need support to know they are not alone and that the intense feelings they experience are normal. Sharing feelings and thoughts in a supportive setting with peers helps to heal their emotional wounds. Each group is led by trained facilitators.

Rainbows is confidential for the participants; however, it is not counseling or therapy. Facilitators guide the individuals through their weekly sessions using workbooks, games and activities.
