Thousands Fed Annually Through Urban Ministries of Durham Shelter Dinner Ministry

From July 2016 through May 2017, Holy Infant parishioners provided food for and served over 2,000 of our Durham neighbors.

Holy Infant parishioners provided food and served 2,044 guests at the Urban Ministries of Durham (UMD) homeless shelter from July 2016 through May 2017.  This figure is up from last year, when 1,976 guests were served.  "How wonderful it is that our parishioners so generously and lovingly support this ministry!" said Carol Ann Applegate, UMD Dinners Co-Coordinator.

The Urban Ministries of Durham (UMD) offers a variety of services to the homeless of the Durham community. Holy Infant parishioners help UMD by providing and/or serving the evening meal at the UMD homeless shelter on the third Sunday of 10 months per year.

The next dinner at the homeless shelter will be a picnic dinner on Sunday, August 20. Please see the pink sign-up sheet in the Atrium to donate a food item or volunteer to serve.  All food is due in the Holy Infant Church kitchen by 4:30 PM on August 2-.
