Construction has begun! Due to tree removal on our campus, some parking areas may be unavailable for weekend Masses on September 15 and 16. Signs will direct you to additional parking available in the lots across Southpark Drive.

OUR OUTREACH: Holy Infant walks with families on path to permanent housing

Families Moving Forward offers hands-on support to homeless neighbors in downtown Durham.

This story is part of a monthly series highlighting Peace, Justice and Human Concerns ministries in the parish.

Right here in Durham, there are families who need our help. Families without a place to live. Families with young children. Families in need.

Holy Infant proudly partners with Families Moving Forward through donation collections, service retreats, and parishioners who prepare and serve meals throughout the year.

Our most recent efforts include a Barrels of Joy collection on June 1 and 2 and dinner service and child care at the shelter on June 3 and 5.

The organization thanked Holy Infant for the donations and said the families at the shelter will definitely enjoy them. Donations included household cleaning supplies, toiletries and bedding. Another opportunity to donate new personal hygiene and household items is coming June 29 and 30.

Families Moving Forward FMF offers a temporary home to these families with children in the crisis of homelessness. Families receive access to programs that help them build skills to return to a stable lifestyle and permanent housing as quickly as possible.
