OUR FAITH JOURNEY: Become a catechist for 2019-2020 Faith Development year

The words “catechist” and “catechesis” come from the Greek word meaning “to echo the faith.”

Are you ready to teach the faith by both Word and Example? Are you willing to be a witness to the Gospel? Do you feel called to help others deepen their relationship with Christ, while strengthening your own?

Did you answer “yes” to any of these questions? If so, consider becoming a catechist for the 2019-2020 Faith Development Year. We currently have the following catechist needs:

  • First Grade Co-Catechist
  • JYM Co-Catechist
  • Pre-K/K Co-Catechist
  • Fourth Grade Co-Catechist
  • TYM Youth Leaders

We also need Catechists to help with First Reconciliation, First Eucharist, and Confirmation Preparation.

Catechists will need to attend the Catechist Formation Day and Luncheon on August 25 from 12:30 to 4:30 p.m. Representatives from Life Teen and Pflaum publishing will be on hand to provide an overview and insights into our curriculum. We will also spend some time discussing classroom management, creating a place of belonging for students with special needs, and our mission for the year.

Contact Rachel Barker at 919-973-0013 or Leanne Woodward at 919-973-0012 to get started echoing your faith to children and youth in this powerful way!
