NC State Fair provides opportunity for attendees to Respect Life

The fair offers more than just delicious food, rides & games, and a glimpse at all things NC. Two Holy Infant parishioners volunteered at the NC Right to Life exhibit booth this year. READ MORE about their experience here.

The fair may only come once a year, but the opportunity to advocate & support the right to life is ongoing.  North Carolina Right to Life (NCRTL) was founded for the purpose of educating the public about abortion, infanticide and euthanasia.  At the fair, parishioners volunteered to pass out "Choose Life" stickers and request signatures for a petition to end abortion.  Some fair goers stopped by to say thank you, some to pick up literature, & others to make a donation.  A very rewarding moment, as reflected upon by Leanne Woodward, was when a pregnant woman and her spouse came by, pointed at the display and exclaimed "that's how big our baby is!"  "What a beautiful way to celebrate the anticipation of their son or daughter's birth with this family."  Anna Cheatle, also a Holy Infant parishioner, reflected on why she chose to volunteer at the NCRTL exhibit:

"I volunteered because Pro-Life is something I feel very strongly about!  It was instilled in me by my parents and my religious beliefs. When God creates a new precious life, who are we to decide if that life lives or dies?  As a nurse, I have been blessed to be able to witness new life enter this world at all gestational ages.  I have also held a tiny newborn in the palm of my hand as it passed away to heaven.  It breaks my heart to image someone actually choosing this pathway for any child of God.  I want to be a voice for all the unborn children who have no voice.  If you are reading this, thank your mother today because she chose life."

**If you desire healing from a past abortion, you're invited to experience the love of Jesus Christ at a Project Rachel weekend retreat November 9-11, 2018. The retreat, for both women and men, is strictly confidential and includes discussions, spiritual exercises, the sacrament of Reconciliation, a Memorial Service, and a Mass of the Resurrection.**
