Local opportunity to honor life in Lenten season

40 Days for Life begins March 6.

Parishioners are invited to join other Christians in our area for 40 days of prayer, fasting for an end to abortion and to stand peacefully and pray in the public right-of-way outside of Planned Parenthood, 1765 Dobbins Drive beginning on March 6.

Vigils will take place through April 14 from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Bishop Luis Rafael Zarama will kick off the prayer campaign on Tuesday, March 12, at 9:30 a.m. on 3305 Drake Circle in Raleigh.

The 40-day time frame is drawn from examples throughout biblical history where God brought about world-changing transformation in 40-day periods. 40 Days for Life challenges everyone to ponder the meaning and value of the inalienable right to life from the prenatal period to the elderly, those with disabilities, the impoverished and the under-represented groups in our society during the 40 days of Lent.

Help to spread the word about this important pro-life community outreach. For more information about 40 Days for Life, to get prayer resources and pro-life meditations for the rosary, or to register for a time slot to pray during Lent, visit the Chapel Hill campaign site. Holy Infant parishioners can contact Diane Gerding at if you would like to schedule a time to pray the rosary together at the vigil site.

"For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well." ~ Psalm139:13-14`
