Lettuce Pray Program Kicks Off With Success

The Holy Infant Community Garden ministry collected produce from home gardeners participating in the Lettuce Pray program for a local elementary school's food pantry.

The Lettuce Pray program, which asks home gardeners to plant an extra row in their gardens to donate, started this month with success, according to Bobi Gallagher, Holy Infant Community Garden ministry co-chair.

The following items and amounts were collected:

basil: 1 oz

kale: 28 oz

lettuce: 6oz.

onions: 2.25 lbs

snow peas: 1 lb

swiss chard: 2 lbs

tomato: 1 lb

pepper: 0.5 lbs

2 dozen eggs (from Bridget Degele)

Thank you to all who grew extra produce and donated! The produce, along with produce from the Holy Infant Garden, will be delivered to the Parkwood Elementary School PTA Food Pantry.

Another collection will take place in July.
