Operation LAMB is a program of the Knights of Columbus (started in North Carolina in 1974) to provide additional funds to groups and programs that work with those who have an intellectual disability and their families to provide items not provided by other sources. Because of this event, most people know Knights as the “Tootsie Roll” guys.
One hundred percent of the money raised is given to persons in North Carolina, with 85 percent of the money spent in Durham City/County. Since the program’s beginning, the North Carolina Knights have raised and donated $23 million.
Specific groups that Holy Infant’s Blessed Louis Brisson Council has helped include Special Olympics Durham County, The Autism Society of North Carolina (Camp Royall), The ARC of the Triangle (Durham) and Voices Together.
