The Knights of Columbus have been a quiet, industrious presence at Holy Infant for more than a year now, celebrating the first anniversary of the installation of the Blessed Louis Brisson Council in December.
In the past year, the Council has grown in number, welcoming six new members in December. They have also grown in how they support Father Robert and the parish.
It’s been a year filled with food, fun and service for our Knights. The Knights greatly appreciate all the support from the parish, whether you purchased meals, made a dessert or helped in other ways.
In 2019, the Knights hosted Holy Infant’s first bingo night and several popular Foodie FUNdraisers, including a chili cookoff and spaghetti, pancake and fish/chicken fry dinners. The Knights also provided for a French-inspired dinner for the DeSales Dinner & Show in January.
The first Chili Cookoff on January 12 was a resounding success, with 14 taste-bud-tantalizing contestants, lots of happy guests, and three well-deserved winners. Congratulations to
Tom Stoffel,
Mark Prokop and
Bob Radcliffe for their award-winning chilis.
The Knights have more in store for the parish in 2020 including state raffle tickets, Holy Infant 50th Anniversary commemorative tee shirts, and Shrove Tuesday pancake and Lenten fish fry dinners.
The Knights are a very visible presence at weekend Masses in their efforts to safely usher those attending Masses from the parking lot to the church. The Knights are running the golf cart shuttle for those with mobility issues and helping direct pedestrian traffic before and after all Masses. They have also been on hand to assist during funerals.
