Holy Infant supports Durham CAN

Holy Infant held an information meeting about Durham CAN on September 25 - attended by 26 people. 17 Holy Infant parishioners were among the over 600 people who participated in the Durham CAN public meeting "Souls to the Polls" on October 27 at the First Presbyterian Church.

We heard from the candidates for district superior court judges and asked them to be merciful and waive fees and costs for the low-income people after we heard from people who had lost everything due to court costs.

School board members reported they had hired 3 bilingual counselors as promised when they were running for office, which was a big win for Durham CAN.

Follow up action:

November 13, at 7pm @ County Commissioners Chambers, 2nd floor of 200 East Main, attend as the County Commissioners meet  to discuss Affordable Housing options and make a decision. We need all who are able to attend. Carpool is possible. Call BobiG 919-225-2457.
