Hunting for eggs is one of the most familiar Easter traditions. Along with the book, Benjamin’s Box, and a set of special Resurrection Eggs, this tradition has been used to help children understand Jesus’ death and resurrection.
To help you celebrate this most important day of the church year, we are providing instructions and materials to create your own set of Resurrection Eggs.
Together with your family, color and cut the 12 images. Each image represents a different moment of Jesus’ passion and resurrection.
Place these images in eggs numbered 1 through 12 and hide them for your children to find on Easter morning.
Join us on the Holy Infant Facebook page at 2 p.m. on Easter Sunday for a live reading of Benjamin’s Box. The story explains the meaning of each of Resurrection Egg and walks readers through the events of Holy Week in an engaging and child-friendly way. (You do not need a Facebook account to participate.)
We hope that this event will help our community celebrate Easter together while we are apart.
