Chalice Program: Praying for vocations at home

During this National Vocations Awareness week, consider bringing our chalice into your home.

The Chalice Program allows perpetual prayer for vocations and offers one more way for Holy Infant parishioners to pray for vocations.

With the support of the Knights of Columbus, the Chalice has found a home each week for four months. Our parish already supports vocations with a First Friday daily Mass intention and Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament dedicated to praying for vocations on the first Thursday. This is a great way to continually pray for vocations and those discerning consecrated life.

Here's how it works:

  • Sign up for an upcoming week of prayer in your home. Dates are available starting Dec. 8.
  • Take home the Chalice to display in your home along with other items such as a crucifix, seminarian cards and prayer cards.
  • Pray daily for seminarians, our priests, deacons and religious.
  • Bring the bag back the following weekend to share with the next family.

Not sure where to start in praying for vocations? The USCCB has made it easy! Check out this list of prayers to add to your daily routine.

National Vocation Awareness Week, celebrated November 3-9, 2019, is an annual week-long celebration of the Catholic Church in the United States dedicated to promote vocations to the priesthood, diaconate and consecrated life through prayer and education, and to renew our prayers and support for those who are considering one of these particular vocations (USCCB).
