A Shepherd for the Marginalized

On May 8, 2025, the Catholic Church witnessed a historic moment as Cardinal Robert Francis Prevost of Chicago was elected Pope Leo XIV—the first American to ascend to the papacy. His election signals a renewed commitment to the Church's mission of compassion, justice, and care for our common home.

A Life Dedicated to the Poor

Pope Leo XIV's journey began in the heart of Chicago, but his missionary spirit led him to the remote regions of Peru. There, he served for decades, often traveling by horse to reach isolated communities, embodying the Gospel's call to serve "the least of these" (Matthew 25:40). His work in Peru wasn't just about spiritual guidance; it was a testament to standing in solidarity with the marginalized and advocating for their rights and dignity. 

Championing the Cause of Immigrants

In an era marked by divisive rhetoric on immigration, Pope Leo XIV has consistently voiced his support for migrants and refugees.
