Food Justice Garden

The Food Justice Garden Ministry provides fresh, organically grown vegetables to organizations and churches that assist the needy with food, such as Parkwood Community Food Hub,  Feed My Sheep, and End Hunger Durham. Volunteers from the parish and local community plant vegetables and flowers, weed, water, harvest and construct new raised beds for planting. Volunteering in the garden, typically on Saturday mornings, is a great way to build community relationships and teach your children how to grow vegetables. 

How you can help: 

• Put those garden workdays on your calendar! Come out to help weed, water, and harvest on Tuesdays and Saturdays from 9 to 11 a.m. 
• Home gardeners can plant a row for our neighbors. This extra produce can be dropped off at the garden on Tuesday mornings from 8 to 10  a.m. Food is delivered to the pantry the same day.
• Bring kitchen scraps from fruits and vegetables and rinsed eggshells to the compost bin in the garden to help us further enrich the soil.
