While many libraries are closed and it is difficult to borrow books, helping families bring home enriching books is more important than ever!
This past Sunday, Holy Infant's middle school youth ministry, JYM, collected and sorted over 200 books to donate to Book Harvest and the Durham Community Food Pantry. The books will now find new homes in our community! The youth also made bookmarks that Book Harvest will distribute to children to inspire reading.
In December, a JYM community service project yielded about 200 pounds of non-perishable and shelf-stable food to the Durham Community Food Pantry and other local food banks. This is equivalent to about 150 meals for those who are struggling with food insecurity and hunger.
Fun and meaningful service events like this are a key part of youth ministry at Holy Infant! Many thanks to those who participated in both efforts.
