Donors were greeted by Knights who directed their vehicles in the lot and unloaded donations. As planned, donors did not leave their vehicles, making the process easy and safe. O’Rourke said that it was fun to see and greet parishioners, after weeks of separation, as they drove through.
After three hours, the truck was full. Five corrals were brimming with donations, along with crates and boxes. Here’s what you donated:
About 250 boxes of cereal and 50 boxes of oatmeal/breakfast bars totaling 527 pounds.
All boxed or canned food other than breakfast items totaled 3,347 pounds.
Glass jars of food totaled 70 pounds.
Two checks totaling $700.
Cameron Morgan, assistant director at the pantry, expressed gratitude for the donations. The Pantry could not afford to have purchased all that was received and is needed to help feed those in the community, he said.
