Holy Infant parishioners gathered August 14 to celebrate as the parish broke ground on its long-awaited new building. Bishop Luis Zarama presided over an Order of Blessing.
“We realize we need to expand our almost 50-year-old church to meet the demands of today’s congregation but also to anticipate what will be needed over the next 20 to 25 years. Our goal is to have a new building that continues to hold the special appeal of what makes Holy Infant such a wonderful church,” said Fr. Robert in an interview.
The groundbreaking is the first step as the parish moves forward on the project. Site work permits, which include grading and encroachment, are expected to be approved by mid-September. Approval of the final layout of the church should be approved by October and our building permit is expected to be issued by the end of 2019 at the latest.
