For decades, Holy Infant has served dinner at Urban Ministries of Durham on the third Sunday of each month except June and December.
Ministry coordinators shared that over the years, they’ve learned what menus work best. In the cooler months, the group serves spaghetti and salad; in the warmer months, hot dogs or sub sandwiches and beans.
The ministry feeds between 160 and 200 people per month at the Community Café. Your generous donations helped to serve 196 diners in January and nearly 2,000 in 2019.
Ministry coordinators encourage volunteers to stock up on menu items on sale at the grocery store. Do you buy in bulk at Costco or Sam’s? Consider donating a few items from a multipack or grabbing an extra multipack while you’re there.
This is a great way to help the ministry replenish its most commonly served, shelf-stable menu items.
We will serve the meal above at our next dinner on
Sunday, February 16.
