Diocese & Deanery

Diocese of Raleigh

Holy Infant parish is part of the Diocese of Raleigh, which covers the eastern half of North Carolina. The Diocese of Charlotte covers the western half of the state.

For timely diocesan news and information on events and many other topics of interest, please visit the diocesan website, where you can connect directly with the diocese via social media.

Piedmont Deanery

For administrative and pastoral reasons, the diocese is geographically divided into eight deaneries.  A deanery is a cluster of parishes in relatively close geographic proximity to each other.  A dean (Vicar Forane / V.F.) is appointed to each deanery by the bishop.

Holy Infant and the parishes listed here form the Piedmont Deanery. Currently, Very Reverend Scott McCue, V.F., pastor of St. Thomas More in Chapel Hill, is Dean of the Piedmont Deanery.
